This is a non-invasive procedure used to monitor blood pressure variants over a 24hr period, whilst carrying out normal daily activities and routines. It aids accurate diagnosis of blood pressure problems and as to whether intervention/treatment/medication is necessary.
The monitor is a small portable device worn on a belt around the waist, which is attached to a BP cuff worn around your arm. The cuff will inflate at regular intervals, every 30mins during day, and every 60mins during night, recording these readings throughout the 24hrs.
The readings are downloaded after 24hrs for GP interpretation, intervention as necessary.
